The Swantown Inn is a small Mom and Pop, family owned business. In this new series of blog posts we want to highlight other small businesses. Some we frequent often, some less so, but if there is a choice between a chain and a local option we almost always go for the local.
Gotti Sweets
We have been using Gotti Sweets as our baker of the most delicious wedding, birthday, baby shower or just because cakes for a while now. Lauren Rogers is the face behind Gotti Sweets, and is very much a one-woman show. Lauren bought Gotti Sweets in 2018, and we met her at a wedding show that same year. In 2022 she appeared on the Halloween Baking Championship on Food Network. She didn’t win but was in the top 4 finalists.
Gotti Sweets is a local bakery with show stopping sweets. Decorated custom cakes are her specialty. I am sure you can read the numerous articles that have been written about her. What we know. She makes amazing cakes, they are always spot on, beautiful, delicious, (in Casey’s opinion this is most important), and also so great to cut! We love that she understands our small business, and that we are able to confidently refer her to anyone looking for a cake. One small business supporting another small business!
She does ask for at least two weeks notice, more during summer, because that is peak wedding season and schedules fill up fast, and again, one-woman show.
