We are recommended as your accommodation in Olympia by Shelora Sheldan, Culinary Traveler for Eat Magazine, in Canada. You can read the article entitled, “A Foodie Tour of the Washington Capital”, from the September/October 2005 Edition.
We received our first review from Lisa Heyamoto, staff reporter for the Seattle Times, visited us the very first night we were here. The article was published on the 13th January 2005.
“Olympia is, surprisingly, not home to a huge selection of bed-and-breakfasts. But it is home to The Swantown Inn, a charming Victorian mansion just a few minutes outside downtown. As it happened, we decided to stay there the very day it changed owners, and the new guy, Nathan Allan, hadn’t even moved in his own stuff when we showed up at the door. Despite the potential for bumps, Allan was gracious and eager to show us around his new digs. He’s got a few updates planned for the place, but wants to keep most things intact. Though we missed out on breakfast this time, I’m going back someday for the gourmet meal he and partner Casey Frazier have cooking.”

"Stay here because: Even though it's the capital, Olympia's hotel choices are slim, and you prefer to stay in a place with character. Built in 1887 by lumberman William G. White, the house is one of the few remaining Victorians in the area. Owners Nathan and Casey Allan see their role as caretakers of the historic property, which has four second-floor guest rooms, all with super-comfy king-size beds and sheets so sumptuous we had to find the labels (Simply Irresistible by Comphy). We enjoyed a filling breakfast of Parmesan-dusted poached eggs over hash browns and Canadian bacon, homemade applesauce and cinnamon scones in the high-ceilinged dining room. On the third floor, guests can get massages, pedicures, facials and other indulgences at The Attic Day Spa."
