Visit Olympia for the day, spend the night at our B&B

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

This great little video was done by the folks over at Everyday Olympia. They are right on target! Olympia is great and getting better all the time. Antiquing,  theaters, galleries, restaurants, cafes and shopping. We are all counting down the days to the reopening of the Farmers Market for the season! Watch the video and be inspired for a visit!

When you are done for the day, rest assured that you are staying in the best lodging Olympia has to offer!

Last Minute Valentines Day

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

You still have time to book a romantic getaway, day spa package, or couples massage for Valentines Day weekend.

We offer a few different choices.

  1. Day Spa Package: You get a night in one of our guest rooms, a couples massage topped off by a gourmet breakfast. (from $277 plus tax)
  2. Romantic Getaway: Over Valentines Day weekend unless you are taking the Day Spa Package we have a two night minimum at the Bed and Breakfast.  Pair this with either massages, one of our romantic dinner recommendations, or a night at the theater, and you will have a memorable gift for your loved one. (Two nights from $238 plus tax)
  3. Couples massage: We still have very limited availability for couples massage in the Attic Day Spa, which is one of the best reviewed Day Spas in the Olympia area. For independent reviews see Spa Finder. (From $198)

Here is what a couple who just left us after two nights in our Astoria Room and massages in the Day Spa;

“Life gets so hectic most of the time. My partner lives in Aberdeen and I live here in Olympia (5 minutes away max). I thought she was crazy for picking a place for us to totally relax and rekindle our life. Now that I have been here the last two nights in this beautiful nostalgic home I can’t thank her enough. We will be back. Nathan and Casey thank you for the delicious breakfasts and hospitality. Your daughter is a little cutie. Ahh and the spa is beyond words. See you in the near future.” – MJ and Laura

We strive to make everyone’s experience as good as this. Whether you are local in Olympia, or bit further away in Portland or Seattle, we believe you can create a wonderful memory here at our Inn.

Plan early for Valentines Day Weekend

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

Last year the Inn and Day Spa were overwhelmed during Valentines Day Weekend. The Spa was booked solid for five days, and all four of our rooms were snapped up. So this year we are announcing our package early.

All of our guest rooms will automatically include a couples massage, for the additional cost of $200 (already included when you book online).

Note that we have a 14 day cancellation policy for holiday weekends.

Feel free to read our reviews on TripAdvisor, Yelp and Spa Finder.  Compare our packages to the likes of the Great Wolf Lodge and Salish Lodge.

Olympia featured in Sunset Magazine

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

Olympia was featured in this month’s Sunset magazine as a great place in the Northwest for a day trip. The one page article highlighted shopping and dining. Unfortunately they skipped accommodations. No worries though as that is where we come in! We offer downtown Olympia’s best reviewed lodging.

Our little town has way too much to see and experience in one day. So take Sunset’s suggestions and add in some of ours and you can easily spend three or four days! From restaurants and cafes, live theater and film, to our diverse downtown shopping, Olympia is well known to locals, but still a hidden gem for those even an hour or two away.

Top of your stay with us with our new basic Swedish Massage, at The Attic Day Spa.

Stay with us for Christmas

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Looking for a last minute place to stay for Christmas?

Visiting relatives but do not want to end up on the futon or couch?

We still have rooms available for this weekend. In the Christmas spirit we are offering a 20% discount for stays of three night or more over for stays including the 25th, 26th and 27th of December.

Please note that we do not provide breakfast on Christmas morning. It is our one day off, and you should be at the kids or grandchildren’s house opening presents anyway!

Gift Certificates for B&B and Day Spa

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Gift Certificates for our Bed and Breakfast and/or Day Spa make a thoughtful present for family and friends. Not everyone will treat themselves to the indulgence of a spa treatment or massage. The lucky recipient may decide to spend a night as well, always a treat for birthdays and the like.

So go ahead and give a gift that well be long remembered and well appreciated. Buy a gift certificate.

Visit Olympia

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

We often get Washingtonians that have lived in our great state for years, sometimes decades, but never visited Olympia. They write Olympia off as the State Capital with nothing but politicians. How wrong are they!

Olympia is like the Secret gem of the Puget Sound. It offers almost every imaginable type of restaurant, from the funky and casual to the gourmet and sophisticated. We have plenty of live theater which rivals the bigger productions of Seattle in quality. As for the Arts, it is well represented with quality galleries and events.

The culinary day-tripper should stock up at our farmers market, while soaking in the sights and sounds of the locals that frequent it. In our humble opinion it rivals Seattle’s Pike Place Market.

The outdoors types will enjoy our parks and gardens. Bike trails abound with the Chelais Western Trail being a highlight.

So Visit Olympia! If you like it stay overnight with us at the Inn.

End of Salmon Season

Sunday, October 4th, 2009

We have a great little Salmon run and hatchery here in Olympia and Tumwater. You can start by seeing the salmon schooling at the 5th Avenue bridge in Olympia, watch them trace there way up Capitol lake and the Deschutes River, and then finally visit Tumwater Falls Park and the Deschutes Watershed and see the hatchery and final leaps.

The Salmon run from early September to late October, so there is still time to catch a glimpse of a few of the stragglers. Prime time is the new moon in September, or so we are told. We are impressed even when they are not as thick in the water!

Fall Arts Walk – an excuse for a weekend away?

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

This Friday is Fall Arts Walk here in Olympia. Over one hundred local businesses participate between the hours of 5pm and 10pm, displaying art to the masses. It is a great time to wander around Olympia’s downtown, take in the atmosphere and have a great meal at one of our restaurants.

At the Swantown Inn we are offering 10% off any two night stay which includes Friday and Saturday nights. Just mention when you call to book or in the notes section if you book online.
